Ios mail junk filter

The eternal struggle against spam!

iOS has a built-in junk filter in the Mail app that helps to automatically move unwanted emails to the Junk folder. Here's how to set it up and customize it:

Enabling the Junk Filter

  1. Open the Mail app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap on the "Mail" tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap on "Settings" (represented by a gear icon).
  4. Scroll down and tap on "Junk Mail".
  5. Toggle the switch next to "Junk Mail Filtering" to the "On" position.

Customizing the Junk Filter

  1. To adjust the sensitivity of the junk filter, tap on "Junk Mail Filtering" and then tap on "Filtering Level".
  2. Choose from three options:
    • "Low": Less aggressive filtering, may let some spam through.
    • "Medium" (default): Balanced filtering, a good starting point.
    • "High": More aggressive filtering, may incorrectly flag some legitimate emails.
  3. To add specific senders or domains to the "Safe Senders" list, tap on "Safe Senders" and enter the email address or domain.
  4. To add specific senders or domains to the "Blocked Senders" list, tap on "Blocked Senders" and enter the email address or domain.

Managing the Junk Folder

  1. To view the Junk folder, go to the Mail app and tap on the "Mail" tab.
  2. Tap on the "Junk" folder to view the emails that have been flagged as junk.
  3. You can move emails from the Junk folder to the "Trash" folder by swiping left on the email and tapping "Move to Trash".
  4. You can also mark an email as "Not Junk" by swiping left on the email and tapping "Not Junk". This will help the junk filter learn to recognize legitimate emails from that sender.
