Ios mail swipe delete

The frustration of trying to delete an email on iOS!

By default, the swipe gesture to delete an email on iOS Mail app is set to "Mark as Read" or "Mark as Unread". To enable swipe delete, follow these steps:

For iOS 14 and later:

  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon) > Mail.
  3. Scroll down to "Swipe Actions" and toggle the switch next to "Swipe Left" to the "On" position.
  4. Choose "Delete" from the list of available actions.

For iOS 13 and earlier:

  1. Open the Mail app.
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon) > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Scroll down to "Swipe Actions" and toggle the switch next to "Swipe Left" to the "On" position.
  4. Choose "Delete" from the list of available actions.

Once you've enabled swipe delete, you can swipe left on an email to delete it. If you want to undo the deletion, you can swipe left again on the same email to restore it.

Note: You can also customize the swipe actions for specific accounts or folders by going to Settings > Mail > [Account/Folder Name] > Swipe Actions.
