Iphone mail delete instead of archive

By default, when you swipe left on an email in the Mail app on your iPhone, it archives the email. However, you can change this behavior to delete the email instead. Here's how:

Method 1: Change the swipe gesture in Settings

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on "Mail".
  3. Tap on "Swipe Options".
  4. Under "Left Swipe", select "Delete" instead of "Archive".

Method 2: Change the swipe gesture in the Mail app

  1. Open the Mail app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on the "Edit" button in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap on "Swipe Actions".
  4. Under "Left Swipe", select "Delete" instead of "Archive".

After making this change, when you swipe left on an email, it will be deleted instead of archived. Note that this change applies to all emails in your inbox, so be careful when making this change if you have important emails you want to keep.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Trash" button at the top of the screen to delete an email. To do this:

  1. Open the Mail app on your iPhone.
  2. Select the email you want to delete.
  3. Tap on the "Trash" button at the top of the screen.

This will move the email to the Trash folder, where you can recover it if needed.
