Iphone mail filter
The iPhone's built-in email filter, also known as "Smart Mailboxes" or "Smart Folders", allows you to automatically sort and categorize your emails based on specific criteria. Here's how to set it up:
Step 1: Open the Mail app
Find the Mail app on your iPhone and tap on it to open it.
Step 2: Tap on the "Mailboxes" tab
In the top-left corner of the screen, tap on the "Mailboxes" tab.
Step 3: Tap on "Edit"
Tap on the "Edit" button in the top-right corner of the screen.
Step 4: Tap on "New Smart Mailbox"
Tap on the "New Smart Mailbox" button.
Step 5: Choose a filter criteria
Choose a filter criteria from the list, such as:
- "Unread"
- "Flagged"
- "Priority"
- "From" (specific sender)
- "To" (specific recipient)
- "Subject" (contains specific text)
- "Has Attachment"
- "Is Not Junk"
You can also choose multiple criteria by tapping on the "+" icon next to each criterion.
Step 6: Set the filter rules
Set the filter rules by selecting the criteria you want to use. For example, if you want to create a smart mailbox for unread emails from a specific sender, select "From" and then choose the sender's email address.
Step 7: Name the smart mailbox
Give your smart mailbox a name, such as "Unread from John".
Step 8: Save the smart mailbox
Tap on the "Save" button to save your smart mailbox.
Using your smart mailbox
Once you've created your smart mailbox, you can access it by tapping on the "Mailboxes" tab and then selecting the smart mailbox from the list. You can also use the smart mailbox as a folder by tapping on the "Edit" button and then tapping on the "Move" button to move emails to the smart mailbox.
Tips:
- You can create multiple smart mailboxes with different filter criteria.
- You can also use the "Smart Folders" feature to automatically sort emails into folders based on specific criteria.
- You can customize the appearance of your smart mailbox by tapping on the "Edit" button and then selecting "Sort By" or "Show" options.
