Irs owes me money email

Here's an example email you could send to the IRS if you believe they owe you money:

Subject: Request for Refund/Overpayment of Taxes

Dear IRS,

I am writing to request a refund or correction of an overpayment of taxes owed to me. According to my records, I have paid [amount] in taxes for [tax year], but I believe that I am owed a refund of [amount] due to [reason for overpayment, e.g. incorrect withholding, overpayment of estimated taxes, etc.].

My name is [Your Name], and my Social Security number is [Your SSN]. My address is [Your Address]. I have attached a copy of my tax return for [tax year] to this email for your reference.
