Jetliner netzero mail

A blast from the past!

Jetliner was a free web-based email service provided by NetZero, a US-based internet service provider (ISP). Launched in 1999, Jetliner was designed to be a simple, easy-to-use email service that allowed users to access their email accounts from anywhere with an internet connection.

Here are some key features of Jetliner:

  1. Free email: Jetliner offered a free email account with a @jetliner.netzero.com address.
  2. Web-based interface: Users could access their email accounts through a web-based interface, eliminating the need for a dedicated email client.
  3. Simple design: The interface was designed to be easy to use, with a minimalistic layout and basic features.
  4. Limited storage: Jetliner accounts came with a limited amount of storage space, typically around 10-20 MB.
  5. Advertising: To generate revenue, NetZero displayed ads on the Jetliner interface.

In 2004, NetZero discontinued Jetliner and replaced it with a new email service called NetZero Mail. NetZero Mail offered more features, including a larger storage capacity, spam filtering, and virus scanning. However, the service was eventually phased out, and NetZero focused on its core internet service provider business.

Today, NetZero is no longer a major player in the email market, and its legacy services like Jetliner are largely forgotten. However, the nostalgia remains, and some people still remember the simplicity and ease of use of Jetliner!
