The Komnenian army was the military force of the Byzantine Empire during the Komnenian dynasty (1081-1185). Here's an email that might give you an idea of what it would be like to be a part of this ancient army:

Note: The Komnenian army was known for its discipline, training, and use of heavy cavalry, archers, and infantry. The kontarion was a type of Byzantine war hammer, and the tagmata were elite units of the Byzantine army.
