To set up a KU email account in Outlook, follow these steps:

Step 1: Add a new account in Outlook

  1. Open Outlook and click on the "File" tab.
  2. Click on "Add Account" and then select "Manual setup or additional server types".
  3. Click "Next" and select "POP or IMAP" as the account type.

Step 2: Enter your KU email account settings

  1. In the "User Information" section, enter your name and email address in the respective fields.
  2. In the "Server Information" section, enter the following settings:
    • Server type: IMAP
    • Server: imap.ku.edu
    • Port: 993
    • Use SSL to connect: Yes
    • Use a secure connection (SSL) to connect to the server: Yes
  3. In the "Logon Information" section, enter your KU email account username and password.
  4. Click "Next" to continue.

Step 3: Set up your KU email account in Outlook

  1. Outlook will attempt to connect to your KU email account. If successful, you will see a confirmation message.
  2. Click "Finish" to complete the setup process.

Step 4: Configure your KU email account settings in Outlook

  1. Go to the "File" tab and click on "Account Settings".
  2. Click on "Account Settings" again in the dropdown menu.
  3. Select your KU email account from the list of accounts and click "Change".
  4. In the "Change Account" window, select "More Settings" and then click "Outgoing Server".
  5. Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and enter your KU email account username and password.
  6. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Step 5: Verify your KU email account settings in Outlook

  1. Close and reopen Outlook to ensure that the changes take effect.
  2. Check your KU email account settings by going to the "File" tab and clicking on "Account Settings".
  3. Verify that your KU email account is listed and that the settings are correct.
