Livemail hotmail

The nostalgia!

Hotmail, also known as Hotmail.com, was one of the first free web-based email services, launched in 1996 by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith. It was acquired by Microsoft in 1997 and became a subsidiary of the company.

In 2012, Microsoft rebranded Hotmail as Outlook.com, and the service was integrated with the Outlook email client. The Hotmail.com domain was redirected to Outlook.com, and users were migrated to the new platform.

Although Hotmail is no longer a separate entity, the Hotmail.com domain still exists and is used to access Outlook.com accounts. If you have a Hotmail account, you can still log in to it using the same credentials, and you'll be redirected to the Outlook.com interface.

Here are some key differences between Hotmail and Outlook.com:

  1. Design and interface: Outlook.com has a more modern and streamlined design compared to Hotmail's older interface.
  2. Features: Outlook.com offers more advanced features, such as calendar integration, task management, and better spam filtering.
  3. Security: Outlook.com has improved security measures, including two-factor authentication and better protection against phishing and malware.
  4. Integration: Outlook.com is more tightly integrated with other Microsoft services, such as Office Online and OneDrive.

If you're still using a Hotmail account, you may want to consider upgrading to Outlook.com to take advantage of the newer features and improved security.
