A blast from the past!
To search for emails in Lotus Notes, you can use the "Search" function within the Notes client. Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Open Lotus Notes and navigate to the "Mail" view.
- Click on the "Search" button in the toolbar or press Ctrl + F.
- In the "Search" dialog box, enter your search criteria in the "Search for" field. You can search for emails by:

- To: Enter the name or email address of the recipient.
- Date: Enter a specific date range to search for emails within that period.
- Use the "AND", "OR", and "NOT" operators to refine your search. For example:
- "keyword" AND "from:john" will search for emails with the keyword and sent by John.
- "keyword" OR "keyword2" will search for emails containing either keyword or keyword2.
- "keyword" NOT "keyword2" will search for emails containing keyword but not keyword2.
- Click the "Search" button to execute the search.
- The search results will be displayed in a new window. You can sort the results by clicking on the column headers.
- To view the details of an email, double-click on the email in the search results.
You can also use the "Advanced Search" option to search for emails using more complex criteria, such as:
- Search for emails with attachments
- Search for emails with specific file types (e.g., PDF, DOCX)
- Search for emails with specific sender or recipient domains
To access the Advanced Search option, click on the "Search" button and then select "Advanced Search" from the drop-down menu.
