Common settings
- IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is recommended for most email services, as it allows for two-way syncing of emails, contacts, and calendar events.
- POP (Post Office Protocol) is an older protocol that only downloads emails from the server and does not sync contacts or calendar events.
- If you're using Exchange, you may need to configure additional settings, such as setting up your calendar and contacts.
Troubleshooting tips
- Make sure your email address and password are correct.
- Check your email service's settings to ensure that IMAP or POP is enabled.
- If you're having trouble connecting, try restarting Mail or resetting your email account settings.
- If you're using Exchange, ensure that your IT administrator has set up the necessary settings for your organization.
