Mac mail only showing recent emails

A frustrating issue! Don't worry, I'm here to help you troubleshoot. Here are some possible solutions to help you see all your emails in Mac Mail:

  1. Check your mailbox settings: Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > [Your Account Name] > Advanced. Make sure the "Show" dropdown menu is set to "All" or "Unread" (if you want to see only unread emails).
  2. Update your account settings: Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > [Your Account Name] > Account Settings. Check if your account settings are up to date. You can also try clicking the "Reconnect" button.
  3. Check your email provider's settings: If you're using an IMAP account, check your email provider's settings to ensure that your account is set up correctly. You can do this by going to your email provider's website and checking their settings.
  4. Try restarting Mail: Sometimes, simply restarting Mail can resolve the issue. Quit Mail, then relaunch it.
  5. Check for duplicate accounts: If you have multiple accounts set up in Mail, it's possible that one account is overriding the others. Try removing any duplicate accounts or merging them into a single account.
  6. Check your mailbox size: If your mailbox is full or almost full, you might not be able to see all your emails. Try deleting some old emails or increasing your mailbox size.
  7. Try a different mailbox: If you're using a specific mailbox (e.g., Inbox, Sent, etc.), try switching to a different mailbox to see if the issue persists.
  8. Check for conflicts with other apps: If you're using other apps that interact with your email account (e.g., email clients, plugins), try closing them and see if the issue resolves.
  9. Reset your Mail preferences: Go to Mail > Preferences > Reset. This will reset your Mail preferences to their default settings.
  10. Reinstall Mail: If none of the above steps work, you can try reinstalling Mail. Go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility, select your startup disk, and click "Erase" (not "Delete"). Then, reinstall Mail from the App Store.

If none of these solutions work, you can try searching for more specific solutions related to your email provider or account type.
