Mail forwarding on gmail
Mail forwarding on Gmail allows you to forward incoming emails from your Gmail account to another email address. Here's how to set it up:
Method 1: Forwarding emails to another Gmail account
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
- Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
- Click on the "Add a forwarding address" button.
- Enter the email address you want to forward emails to.
- Click on the "Next" button.
- Confirm that you want to add the forwarding address.
- Click on the "Save Changes" button.
Method 2: Forwarding emails to a non-Gmail account
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
- Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
- Click on the "Add a forwarding address" button.
- Enter the email address you want to forward emails to (this can be a non-Gmail account).
- Click on the "Next" button.
- Confirm that you want to add the forwarding address.
- Click on the "Save Changes" button.
Note: When you set up mail forwarding, you can choose to forward all incoming emails or only emails from specific senders. You can also set up filters to forward emails based on specific criteria, such as subject lines or keywords.
Tips:
- Make sure to enter the correct email address when setting up mail forwarding, as this cannot be changed later.
- If you're forwarding emails to a non-Gmail account, be aware that the recipient may not be able to reply to the email using their own email address.
- You can also set up mail forwarding for specific labels or folders in your Gmail account.
- If you're using Gmail's built-in filters, you can set up filters to forward emails based on specific criteria, such as subject lines or keywords.
