Mail goes to outbox

The "Outbox"!

In email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, or Yahoo Mail, the Outbox is a folder where emails are temporarily stored before they are sent to their final destination. When you compose an email and click the "Send" button, the email is moved from the "Drafts" folder to the "Outbox" folder.

Here's what happens when you send an email:

  1. You compose an email and click "Send".
  2. The email is moved from the "Drafts" folder to the "Outbox" folder.
  3. The email is stored in the "Outbox" folder until it is successfully sent to the recipient's email server.
  4. If the email is sent successfully, it is removed from the "Outbox" folder and moved to the "Sent Items" folder.
  5. If there's an error sending the email (e.g., the recipient's email server is down), the email remains in the "Outbox" folder until you retry sending it or delete it.

The Outbox serves as a buffer to ensure that emails are not lost in transit. It also allows you to keep track of emails that are still pending sending, in case you need to cancel or retry sending them.
