Mail outlook setting
Here are the steps to set up Outlook mail settings:
Outlook 2016 and later versions:
- Open Outlook and click on the "File" tab.
- Click on "Account Settings" and then select "Account Settings" again from the dropdown menu.
- Click on "New" to add a new email account.
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
- Select "POP or IMAP" and click "Next".
- Enter the following information:
- Your Name: Enter your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field of your emails.
- Email Address: Enter your email address.
- Account Type: Select "POP" or "IMAP" depending on your email provider's recommendation.
- Incoming mail server: Enter the incoming mail server provided by your email provider (e.g. imap.gmail.com).
- Outgoing mail server: Enter the outgoing mail server provided by your email provider (e.g. smtp.gmail.com).
- User Name: Enter your email address.
- Password: Enter your email password.
- Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.

- Email Address: Enter your email address.
- Account Type: Select "POP3" or "IMAP" depending on your email provider's recommendation.
- Incoming mail server: Enter the incoming mail server provided by your email provider (e.g. imap.gmail.com).
- Outgoing mail server: Enter the outgoing mail server provided by your email provider (e.g. smtp.gmail.com).
- User Name: Enter your email address.
- Password: Enter your email password.
- Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.
Common settings:
- Incoming mail server: This is the server that receives your incoming emails. For example, imap.gmail.com for Gmail.
- Outgoing mail server: This is the server that sends your outgoing emails. For example, smtp.gmail.com for Gmail.
- User Name: This is your email address.
- Password: This is your email password.
- Authentication: This is the method used to authenticate your email account. Common options include "Password" and "OAuth2".
- Port: This is the port number used to connect to the mail server. Common options include 993 for IMAP and 587 for SMTP.
Troubleshooting tips:
- Make sure you enter the correct email address and password.
- Check that the incoming and outgoing mail servers are correct.
- Ensure that the port numbers are correct.
- Try using a different email client or app to see if the issue is specific to Outlook.
