Aust Post Mail Redirection!
The Australian Postal Corporation, also known as Australia Post, offers a mail redirection service that allows you to redirect your mail to a new address. This service is useful when you're moving to a new home, traveling, or need to forward mail to a temporary address.
Here's how it works:
Types of Mail Redirection:
- Permanent Redirection: Redirect mail to a new address for an indefinite period.
- Temporary Redirection: Redirect mail to a new address for a specific period (e.g., 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year).
- One-Off Redirection: Redirect a single piece of mail to a new address.
How to Set Up Mail Redirection:
- Online: Visit the Australia Post website (www.auspost.com.au) and follow the prompts to set up your mail redirection.
- Phone: Call Australia Post's customer service on 13 13 18 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm AEST).
- In Person: Visit your local post office and speak with a representative.
Requirements:
- Your current address (the address you want to redirect mail from)
- Your new address (the address you want to redirect mail to)
- Your identity (e.g., driver's license, passport)
Fees:
- Permanent Redirection: $55.50 (includes 12 months of redirection)
- Temporary Redirection: $22.50 (for 3 months), $35.50 (for 6 months), or $55.50 (for 1 year)
- One-Off Redirection: $5.50
Important Notes:
- Mail redirection only applies to mail sent through Australia Post. Private courier services, such as FedEx or UPS, may not be redirected.
- You can't redirect mail to a PO Box or a mailbox at a post office.
- If you're redirecting mail to an international address, you'll need to provide additional information, such as the recipient's name and address.
By setting up mail redirection with Australia Post, you can ensure that your important mail and packages reach you safely and efficiently, even when you're on the move.
