Microsoft outlook hotmail connector office 2014

A blast from the past!

The Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector was a feature that allowed users to connect their Hotmail accounts to Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013. However, it was discontinued in 2013 and replaced with the Outlook.com connector.

Here's what you need to know:

What was the Outlook Hotmail Connector?

The Outlook Hotmail Connector was a feature that allowed users to connect their Hotmail accounts to Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013. It enabled users to access their Hotmail emails, contacts, and calendar events directly within Outlook.

Why was it discontinued?

Microsoft discontinued the Outlook Hotmail Connector in 2013 due to the transition from Hotmail to Outlook.com. The company wanted to focus on a single, unified email service, Outlook.com, and phase out the older Hotmail service.

What's the alternative?

If you're still using Outlook 2014, you can use the Outlook.com connector instead. To set it up:

  1. Open Outlook 2014 and go to File > Add Account.
  2. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click Next.
  3. Choose "Outlook.com" and click Next.
  4. Enter your Outlook.com email address and password, and click Next.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the setup process.

The Outlook.com connector allows you to access your Outlook.com emails, contacts, and calendar events directly within Outlook 2014.

Important note:

If you're still using Outlook 2014, you may not be able to use the Outlook.com connector if you're using an older version of Outlook.com. Microsoft recommends upgrading to the latest version of Outlook.com to ensure compatibility with Outlook 2014.
