Msn news hotmail

A blast from the past!

MSN News and Hotmail were both popular online services in the early 2000s. Here's a brief overview:

MSN News:

MSN News was a news aggregator service provided by Microsoft, which allowed users to access news articles from various sources, including Associated Press, Reuters, and other news organizations. The service was launched in 1995 and was available on the MSN website. MSN News was known for its user-friendly interface and ability to customize news feeds based on user preferences.

Hotmail:

Hotmail was a free web-based email service launched by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith in 1996. It was acquired by Microsoft in 1997 and became one of the most popular email services in the world, with over 100 million users at its peak. Hotmail allowed users to access their email accounts from any internet-connected device, using a web browser. It was known for its simplicity, ease of use, and innovative features like the ability to send and receive attachments.

What happened to MSN News and Hotmail?

In 2012, Microsoft announced that it would be retiring MSN News and replacing it with Bing News, a news aggregator service integrated into the Bing search engine. Bing News was designed to provide users with a more personalized and curated news experience.

As for Hotmail, Microsoft launched Outlook.com in 2012, a new email service that replaced Hotmail. Outlook.com offered a more modern and feature-rich email experience, with integration with other Microsoft services like Office Online and OneDrive. Hotmail users were migrated to Outlook.com, and the Hotmail brand was eventually phased out.

Today, MSN News is no longer available as a standalone service, but users can still access news articles on the Bing News website. Hotmail, on the other hand, is still accessible as a legacy email service, but it is no longer actively developed or supported by Microsoft.
