No email notifications until mail app is opened

To disable email notifications until the Mail app is opened on your device, you can follow these steps:

For iOS devices (iPhone/iPad):

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > Notifications > Mail.
  2. Toggle off "Allow Notifications" or set it to "Off".
  3. Alternatively, you can also toggle off "Show on Lock Screen" and "Show on Notification Center" to prevent notifications from appearing on your lock screen and notification center.

For Android devices:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Mail.
  2. Tap on "Notifications" or "Notification settings".
  3. Toggle off "Show notifications" or set it to "Off".
  4. You can also go to Settings > Sound > Notification sound and set it to "Silent" or "None" to prevent notifications from making a sound.

For Gmail app on Android devices:

  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Tap on the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the top left corner.
  3. Tap on "Settings" (gear icon).
  4. Scroll down to "Notifications".
  5. Toggle off "Notifications" or set it to "Off".

For Outlook app on Android devices:

  1. Open the Outlook app.
  2. Tap on the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the top left corner.
  3. Tap on "Settings" (gear icon).
  4. Scroll down to "Notifications".
  5. Toggle off "Notifications" or set it to "Off".

By following these steps, you should no longer receive email notifications until you open the Mail app on your device.
