Ntu webmail imap
NTU Webmail uses IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) to allow users to access their email accounts remotely. Here's how to set up IMAP for NTU Webmail:
IMAP Settings:
- Server: imap.ntu.edu.sg
- Port: 993 (SSL/TLS)
- Username: Your NTU Webmail username (e.g., [your_username]@ntu.edu.sg)
- Password: Your NTU Webmail password
Setup Instructions:
- Open your email client (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail) and go to the "Accounts" or "Settings" section.
- Click on "Add Account" or "New Account" and select "IMAP" as the account type.
- Enter your NTU Webmail username and password in the required fields.
- Set the "Incoming Mail Server" to imap.ntu.edu.sg and the "Port" to 993.
- Set the "Outgoing Mail Server" to smtp.ntu.edu.sg and the "Port" to 587 (or 25 if your email client doesn't support TLS).
- Make sure to select "SSL/TLS" as the encryption method for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
- Click "Next" or "Finish" to complete the setup process.
Tips:
- Make sure to enable IMAP in your NTU Webmail account settings. You can do this by logging in to your NTU Webmail account, clicking on the gear icon, and selecting "Settings". Then, click on "Accounts" and toggle the "IMAP" switch to "On".
- If you're using a third-party email client, you may need to configure the account manually. Consult your email client's documentation for more information.
- NTU Webmail has a limit of 100 MB for IMAP folders. If you need to store larger amounts of data, consider using POP3 or another email client that supports larger folder sizes.
