Here's how to use the O365 mail trace:

Prerequisites:

  1. You need to have an Office 365 account with the necessary permissions to access the mail trace feature.
  2. The email message you want to trace must be sent or received within the last 30 days.

Steps to use the O365 mail trace:

  1. Sign in to the Office 365 admin center: Go to https://admin.microsoft.com and sign in with your admin credentials.
  2. Navigate to the "Mail" section: Click on the "Mail" tab in the navigation menu.
  3. Click on "Mail trace": In the "Mail" section, click on the "Mail trace" button.
  4. Enter the email address or message ID: Enter the email address of the sender or recipient, or the message ID (a unique identifier assigned to each email message).
  5. Select the date range: Choose the date range for which you want to trace the email message. You can select a specific date or a range of dates.
  6. Click "Search": Click the "Search" button to initiate the mail trace.
  7. View the mail trace results: The mail trace results will display the delivery path of the email message, including the sender, recipient, and any intermediate mail servers that handled the message.
