Office 365 junk mail settings

Junk mail, also known as spam, can be a nuisance in any email account. Office 365 provides several settings to help you manage junk mail and keep your inbox clean. Here are some steps to help you configure junk mail settings in Office 365:

Step 1: Check your Junk Email settings

  1. Log in to your Office 365 account and go to the Outlook web app.
  2. Click on the gear icon () in the top right corner and select "View all Outlook settings."
  3. Scroll down to the "Mail" section and click on "Junk email."
  4. Here, you can see the current junk email settings, including the level of protection, the list of blocked senders, and the list of allowed senders.

Step 2: Adjust the Junk Email level

  1. To adjust the junk email level, click on the "Junk email level" dropdown menu and select one of the following options:
    • Low: This setting is more lenient and may allow more spam to reach your inbox.
    • Medium (default): This setting is a good balance between blocking spam and allowing legitimate emails to reach your inbox.
    • High: This setting is more aggressive and may block more legitimate emails.
  2. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Step 3: Add senders to the Blocked Senders list

  1. To add a sender to the Blocked Senders list, click on the "Blocked Senders" tab.
  2. Click on the "Add" button and enter the email address or domain of the sender you want to block.
  3. Click "Add" to add the sender to the list.
  4. Repeat this process for each sender you want to block.

Step 4: Add senders to the Safe Senders list

  1. To add a sender to the Safe Senders list, click on the "Safe Senders" tab.
  2. Click on the "Add" button and enter the email address or domain of the sender you want to allow.
  3. Click "Add" to add the sender to the list.
  4. Repeat this process for each sender you want to allow.

Step 5: Configure other junk email settings

  1. You can also configure other junk email settings, such as:
    • "Mark as Junk": This setting allows you to mark an email as junk by clicking on the "Junk" button in the email header.
    • "Delete Junk Email": This setting allows you to automatically delete junk email from your inbox.
    • "Move Junk Email to Folder": This setting allows you to move junk email to a specific folder instead of deleting it.
