Ohio university catmail settings
Ohio University's Catmail is the university's official email system for students, faculty, and staff. Here are some common settings you may need to configure:
Logging in to Catmail
- Go to catmail.ohio.edu and enter your Ohio University username and password.
- If you're having trouble logging in, try resetting your password or contacting the Ohio University IT Help Desk.
Basic Settings
- Account Settings: You can access your account settings by clicking on the gear icon () in the top right corner of the Catmail inbox. From here, you can change your password, update your profile information, and set up two-factor authentication.
- Language: You can change the language of your Catmail account by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "Settings" > "Language".
- Time Zone: You can set your time zone by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "Settings" > "Time Zone".
Spam and Junk Mail Settings
- Spam Filter: Ohio University's Catmail system uses a spam filter to help block unwanted emails. You can adjust the filter settings by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "Settings" > "Spam Filter".
- Junk Mail: You can also set up a junk mail folder to automatically move suspected spam emails to a separate folder. To do this, click on the gear icon and select "Settings" > "Junk Mail".
Forwarding and POP/IMAP Settings
- Forwarding: You can set up email forwarding by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "Settings" > "Forwarding". Enter the email address you want to forward your emails to, and choose whether you want to forward all emails or only emails from specific senders.
- POP/IMAP: You can set up POP or IMAP access to your Catmail account by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "Settings" > "POP/IMAP". This allows you to access your Catmail emails using a third-party email client.
Security Settings
- Two-Factor Authentication: Ohio University recommends enabling two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security to your Catmail account. To set up two-factor authentication, click on the gear icon and select "Settings" > "Two-Factor Authentication".
- Password Recovery: You can set up password recovery options by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "Settings" > "Password Recovery". This allows you to recover your password in case you forget it.
