Open mail in safe mode
To open Mail in Safe Mode, you can follow these steps:
For Mac:
- Quit Mail by going to
Mail
>Quit Mail
or by pressingCommand + Q
. - Open the Terminal app on your Mac. You can find it in the Applications/Utilities folder, or use Spotlight to search for it.
- Type the following command and press Enter:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableOpenMultipleTimes -bool true
- Restart Mail by going to
Mail
>Relaunch
or by pressingCommand + R
. - Mail should now open in Safe Mode.
For Windows:
- Quit Mail by going to
File
>Exit
or by pressingAlt + F4
. - Open the Run dialog box by pressing the
Windows key + R
. - Type the following command and press Enter:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Settings\mail.exe /safe
- Mail should now open in Safe Mode.
