Outlook 2014 gmail imap

A classic combination!

To set up Outlook 2014 to connect to Gmail using IMAP, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable IMAP in your Gmail account

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
  3. Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
  4. Select the "Enable IMAP" radio button.
  5. Click "Save Changes."

Step 2: Set up Outlook 2014 to connect to Gmail using IMAP

  1. Open Outlook 2014 and go to "File" > "Add Account."
  2. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next."
  3. Select "Internet Email" and click "Next."
  4. Enter the following information:
    • Your Name: Your name as you want it to appear in the From field.
    • Email Address: Your Gmail address.
    • Account Type: Select "IMAP."
    • Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
    • User Name: Your Gmail address.
    • Password: Your Gmail password.
  5. Click "Next" and then "Finish."

Step 3: Configure IMAP settings in Outlook 2014

  1. Go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings" again.
  2. Select your Gmail account and click "Change."
  3. In the "Change Account" window, select the "More Settings" button.
  4. Go to the "Advanced" tab.
  5. In the "Incoming mail server" field, enter "imap.gmail.com" and select "IMAP" as the protocol.
  6. In the "Outgoing mail server" field, enter "smtp.gmail.com" and select "SMTP" as the protocol.
  7. Click "OK" to close the "Change Account" window.

That's it! Your Outlook 2014 should now be connected to your Gmail account using IMAP. You can access your Gmail emails, contacts, and calendar in Outlook 2014.
