Outlook 2015 gmail setting

To set up Outlook 2015 to connect to Gmail, follow these steps:

Step 1: Add a new account

  1. Open Outlook 2015 and click on the "File" tab.
  2. Click on "Add Account" and then select "Manual setup or additional server types".
  3. Click "Next" and then select "Internet Email" from the list of options.

Step 2: Enter your Gmail account information

  1. In the "User Information" section, enter your name and email address.
  2. In the "Server Information" section, enter the following settings:
    • "Incoming mail server" (IMAP): imap.gmail.com
    • "Outgoing mail server" (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
    • "User Name": your Gmail address (e.g. [your_email_address]@gmail.com)
    • "Password": your Gmail password
  3. Click "More Settings" and then click on the "Outgoing Server" tab.
  4. Check the box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".
  5. Click "OK" to close the "More Settings" window.

Step 3: Set up the account

  1. Click "Next" to continue the setup process.
  2. Outlook will attempt to connect to your Gmail account. If everything is set up correctly, you should see a success message.
  3. Click "Finish" to complete the setup process.

Step 4: Configure the account settings

  1. Click on the "File" tab and then click on "Account Settings".
  2. Select your Gmail account from the list of accounts and click "Change".
  3. In the "Change Account" window, click on the "More Settings" button.
  4. In the "More Settings" window, click on the "Advanced" tab.
  5. In the "Advanced" tab, you can configure additional settings such as the port numbers and encryption settings.
  6. Click "OK" to close the "More Settings" window.

Step 5: Test the account

  1. Click on the "Send/Receive" button to test the connection to your Gmail account.
  2. If everything is set up correctly, you should be able to send and receive emails using your Gmail account in Outlook 2015.

Note: If you're using two-factor authentication (2FA) with your Gmail account, you may need to generate an App Password and use that instead of your regular password.
