Outlook 2018 archive email
In Outlook 2018, you can archive emails to free up space in your inbox and keep your emails organized. Here's how:
Method 1: Archive a single email
- Open the email you want to archive.
- Click on the "Move" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon.
- Select "Archive" from the dropdown menu.
- Choose a folder to archive the email to, or select "Archive in the default archive folder" to archive it to the default archive folder.
Method 2: Archive multiple emails
- Select the emails you want to archive by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on each email.
- Right-click on one of the selected emails and select "Move to" > "Archive".
- Choose a folder to archive the emails to, or select "Archive in the default archive folder" to archive them to the default archive folder.
Method 3: Archive all emails in a folder
- Select the folder you want to archive all emails from.
- Right-click on the folder and select "Archive" > "Archive this folder".
- Choose a folder to archive the emails to, or select "Archive in the default archive folder" to archive them to the default archive folder.

By default, the archive folder is located in the "Local Folders" section of your Outlook account. You can change the location of the archive folder by going to "File" > "Options" > "Advanced" > "Archive" and selecting a different folder.
Tips
- You can also use the "Quick Steps" feature in Outlook to create a custom archive rule. To do this, go to "Home" > "Quick Steps" and create a new step by clicking on "New" > "Move to Archive".
- If you want to archive emails from a specific sender or subject, you can use the "Rules" feature in Outlook to create a rule that automatically archives emails that meet certain criteria.
- Archiving emails will move them to the archive folder, but it will not delete them. You can still access archived emails by going to the "Local Folders" section of your Outlook account.
