Outlook full mailbox
The frustration of a full mailbox in Outlook!
Here are some steps to help you manage a full mailbox in Outlook:
Check your mailbox size
- Open Outlook and go to the "File" menu.
- Click on "Info" and then "Account Settings".
- Click on "Data Files" and select the mailbox you want to check.
- Look for the "Size" column, which will show you the total size of your mailbox.
Delete unnecessary emails
- Open your mailbox and use the "Search" function to find emails that are no longer needed.
- Select the emails you want to delete and press the "Delete" key.
- Confirm that you want to delete the emails.
Empty the "Deleted Items" folder
- Go to the "Deleted Items" folder in your mailbox.
- Select all the emails in the folder by pressing "Ctrl+A".
- Right-click on the selected emails and choose "Empty Folder".
Purge old emails
- Go to the "Folder" view in your mailbox.
- Right-click on the folder you want to purge (e.g., "Inbox", "Sent Items", etc.).
- Choose "Clean Up Folders" and select the option to "Purge items older than [X] days".
- Set the number of days to a reasonable value (e.g., 30, 60, etc.).
Increase your mailbox size

Consider archiving your emails
- Outlook allows you to archive your emails to free up space in your mailbox.
- Go to the "File" menu and click on "Manage Accounts".
- Select the account you want to archive and click on "Archive".
- Choose a location to save your archived emails.
