Outlook mail days to sync
The number of days that Outlook mail syncs depends on the settings you have configured. Here are the default settings:
Outlook.com (Web-based Outlook)
- The default setting is to sync emails for the past 30 days.
- You can change this setting by going to Settings (gear icon) > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Sync email > Sync period.
- You can choose from the following options:
- 1 day
- 3 days
- 7 days
- 14 days
- 30 days
- 60 days
- 90 days
- 180 days
Outlook Desktop App
- The default setting is to sync emails for the past 30 days.
- You can change this setting by going to File > Options > Advanced > Send/Receive > Sync period.
- You can choose from the following options:
- 1 day
- 3 days
- 7 days
- 14 days
- 30 days
- 60 days
- 90 days
- 180 days
Outlook Mobile App
- The default setting is to sync emails for the past 30 days.
- You can change this setting by going to Settings > Accounts > [Your Email Account] > Sync settings.
- You can choose from the following options:
- 1 day
- 3 days
- 7 days
- 14 days
- 30 days
- 60 days
- 90 days
- 180 days
Note that these settings apply to the email client itself, and may not reflect the actual retention period of your email account provider (e.g., your email provider may retain emails for a longer period than the sync period).
