Outlook mail settings imap

To set up Outlook to use IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) to access your email account, follow these steps:

Outlook 2016 and later versions:

  1. Open Outlook and go to File > Account Settings > Manage Profiles.
  2. Click on "Show Profiles" and select the profile you want to edit.
  3. Click on "Email" and then click on "Edit".
  4. In the "Account" tab, select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
  5. Select "Internet Email" and click "Next".
  6. Enter your email address, username, and password.
  7. In the "Server Information" section, select "IMAP" as the server type.
  8. Enter the IMAP server address and port number (e.g., imap.gmail.com:993).
  9. Check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)".
  10. Click "Next" and then "Finish".

Outlook 2013 and earlier versions:

  1. Open Outlook and go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
  2. Select the email account you want to edit and click "Change".
  3. In the "Change E-mail Account" window, select "More Settings" and click "Next".
  4. In the "Internet E-mail Settings" window, select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
  5. Check the box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".
  6. Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".
  7. In the "Incoming Server" tab, select "IMAP" as the server type.
  8. Enter the IMAP server address and port number (e.g., imap.gmail.com:993).
  9. Check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)".
  10. Click "OK" and then "Next" and "Finish".
