Overwrite in gmail text

You're referring to the "Undo Send" feature in Gmail!

In Gmail, you can enable the "Undo Send" feature to retract an email you've sent within a certain time frame. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to the "General" tab.
  5. Look for the "Undo Send" section.
  6. Click the toggle button to enable "Undo Send".
  7. Choose the time frame within which you want to be able to retract your email (5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds).

Once you've enabled "Undo Send", you'll see a "Undo" link at the bottom of the compose window after you send an email. If you click on this link within the chosen time frame, the email will be retracted and won't be delivered to the recipient.

Note that this feature only works for emails sent from the Gmail web interface, not for emails sent from the Gmail mobile app or other email clients.
