Place hold on mail

You're looking to place a hold on your mail!

There are a few ways to do this, depending on your location and the type of mail you're trying to hold:

  1. USPS Hold Mail: If you're a US resident, you can use the USPS Hold Mail service. You can request to hold your mail for a specific period, such as a vacation or business trip. To do this, you'll need to:
    • Go to the USPS website (usps.com)
    • Click on "Hold Mail" under the "Mail & Shipping" tab
    • Fill out the online form with your name, address, and hold dates
    • Pay a small fee (currently $1.00 per day, up to a maximum of $30.00)
  2. USPS Vacation Hold: If you're going on a longer trip, you can request a Vacation Hold. This will hold your mail for up to 30 days. To do this:
    • Go to the USPS website (usps.com)
    • Click on "Vacation Hold" under the "Mail & Shipping" tab
    • Fill out the online form with your name, address, and hold dates
    • Pay a small fee (currently $1.00 per day, up to a maximum of $30.00)
  3. Local Post Office: You can also visit your local post office in person and ask to place a hold on your mail. They'll need to see some form of identification and may require a small fee.
  4. Private Mailbox Services: If you have a private mailbox service, such as a mailbox rental or a mail forwarding service, you may be able to place a hold on your mail through their website or by contacting their customer service.

Remember to always check with your local post office or mail service provider for specific requirements and fees associated with holding your mail.
