Yes, the United States Postal Service (USPS) allows you to forward your mail to a new address. Here's how:

Online Forwarding

  1. Go to the USPS website (usps.com) and sign in to your account or create a new one if you don't have one.
  2. Click on "Hold Mail" or "Forward Mail" under the "Mail & Ship" tab.
  3. Enter your current address and the new address where you want your mail forwarded.
  4. Choose the forwarding period: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months.
  5. Pay the forwarding fee (currently $1.05 per month for 1-3 months, $1.30 per month for 6-12 months).

In-Person Forwarding

  1. Take your mail to your local post office.
  2. Fill out a PS Form 3575, "Address Change Forwarding Service Request."
  3. Provide your current address and the new address where you want your mail forwarded.
  4. Pay the forwarding fee (currently $1.05 per month for 1-3 months, $1.30 per month for 6-12 months).

Note: You can also use the USPS Mobile App to forward your mail.

What happens to my mail?

When you forward your mail, the USPS will:

  1. Hold your mail at the post office for the specified forwarding period.
  2. Forward your mail to the new address you provided.
  3. Return undeliverable mail to the sender.
