Protonmail email size limit

ProtonMail, a popular secure email service, has a file size limit for attachments. Here are the details:

Standard ProtonMail Account:

• The standard file size limit for attachments is 25 MB (megabytes).
• If you try to send an attachment larger than 25 MB, you'll receive an error message.

ProtonMail Plus Account:

• If you have a ProtonMail Plus account, which offers additional features and storage, the file size limit for attachments is increased to 50 MB.

ProtonMail Visionary Account:

• ProtonMail Visionary accounts, which offer even more features and storage, have a file size limit of 100 MB for attachments.

Workaround:

If you need to send a larger file, you can use ProtonMail's built-in file sharing feature, which allows you to share files up to 5 GB (gigabytes) in size. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Compose a new email as you normally would.
2. Instead of attaching the file, click on the "File" button and select "Share file".
3. Enter the recipient's email address and a brief description of the file.
4. Click "Share" to send the file link to the recipient.

Keep in mind that even with the file sharing feature, there may be limitations on the number of files you can share and the total amount of storage space used.
