Royal mail forward letter

A convenient and popular service!

Royal Mail's Forwarding Letter service allows you to redirect your mail to a new address, either temporarily or permanently, while keeping your original address private. Here's how it works:

How it works:

  1. You sign up for the service online or by phone.
  2. You provide your original address and the new address where you want your mail to be forwarded.
  3. Royal Mail will then forward your mail to the new address, usually within 3-5 working days.
  4. You can choose to forward mail for a specific period (e.g., 1-12 months) or indefinitely.

Benefits:

  1. Privacy: Your original address remains private, as the mail is forwarded to the new address.
  2. Convenience: No need to update your address with every sender or service provider.
  3. Flexibility: You can forward mail to a temporary address while you're away, or to a permanent address if you're moving.
  4. Security: Your mail is protected from theft or loss, as it's held securely at Royal Mail's sorting office until it's forwarded.

Fees and limitations:

  1. Cost: The fee for forwarding a letter is £1.20 (plus VAT) per item, with a minimum charge of £1.20.
  2. Size and weight limits: The service is limited to standard-sized letters (up to 100g) and small packets (up to 2kg).
  3. Exclusions: Some items, such as large or bulky items, international mail, and items requiring special handling (e.g., perishable goods), may not be eligible for forwarding.

How to sign up:

  1. Visit the Royal Mail website (www.royalmail.com) and click on "Services" > "Forwarding" > "Forwarding Letter".
  2. Fill out the online form with your original and new addresses, and any other required information.
