Royal mail harry potter stamps
A delightful topic!
In 2001, Royal Mail, the UK's postal service, released a set of stamps featuring characters and scenes from the popular Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling. This was a unique collaboration between Royal Mail and Bloomsbury Publishing, the publishers of the Harry Potter books.
The set of 4 stamps, designed by Graham Humphreys, featured:
- Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (50p)
- The Hogwarts Express (50p)
- Harry Potter (1st class)
- Lord Voldemort (1st class)
These stamps were a huge success, and Royal Mail has since released several more sets of Harry Potter stamps, including:
- 2007: A set of 6 stamps featuring characters from the books, including Harry, Ron, Hermione, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape, and Lord Voldemort.
- 2011: A set of 6 stamps featuring scenes from the books, including the Hogwarts Express, Diagon Alley, and the Quidditch World Cup.
- 2016: A set of 12 stamps featuring characters and scenes from the books, including Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the Weasley family.
- 2020: A set of 12 stamps featuring characters and scenes from the books, including Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the Hogwarts staff.
These stamps have become highly collectible and are a great way for fans of the series to show their love for Harry Potter.
