Royal Mail's Track and Trace service allows you to track the progress of your mail and parcels in real-time. Here's how it works:
How to use Royal Mail Track and Trace:
- Visit the Royal Mail website: Go to the Royal Mail website (www.royalmail.com) and click on "Track a parcel" at the top of the page.
- Enter your tracking number: Enter your tracking number (also known as a barcode or consignment number) in the required field. You can find this number on your dispatch confirmation email or on the packaging of your item.

- Track only: Get updates on the progress of your parcel, but without the ability to track the exact delivery time.
- View your tracking updates: Once you've entered your tracking number and selected your tracking option, you'll be able to view updates on the progress of your parcel. These updates will include information such as:
- The date and time the parcel was dispatched
- The date and time the parcel was scanned at a Royal Mail sorting office
- The date and time the parcel was delivered
- Get notified of updates: You can also opt to receive email updates on the progress of your parcel. Simply enter your email address in the required field and select the "Track and Trace" option.
What can you track with Royal Mail Track and Trace?
You can track a wide range of items using Royal Mail Track and Trace, including:
- Parcels sent via Royal Mail's 1st Class, 2nd Class, and Special Delivery services
- International parcels sent via Royal Mail's International Tracked and Signed and International Tracked services
- Parcels sent via Royal Mail's Parcelforce services, including Parcelforce 24, Parcelforce 48, and Parcelforce Global Priority
