Royal Mail offers a range of insurance options to protect your valuable items against loss, damage, or theft while in transit. Here are some of the insurance options available:
- Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed: This service provides insurance up to £2,500 for items sent within the UK and up to £500 for items sent to Europe. The item must be sent via Special Delivery Guaranteed and the recipient must sign for the item upon delivery.
- Royal Mail International Signed For: This service provides insurance up to £500 for items sent to Europe and up to £250 for items sent to other destinations. The item must be sent via International Signed For and the recipient must sign for the item upon delivery.
- Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed: This service provides insurance up to £500 for items sent to Europe and up to £250 for items sent to other destinations. The item must be sent via International Tracked & Signed and the recipient must sign for the item upon delivery.
- Royal Mail Insurance: This is an optional insurance service that can be added to any Royal Mail service. It provides insurance up to £2,500 for items sent within the UK and up to £500 for items sent to Europe. The item must be declared as valuable and the premium must be paid.
To purchase insurance, you can:
- Use the Royal Mail online shop to purchase insurance for your item.
- Visit a Royal Mail Post Office branch and ask a member of staff to add insurance to your item.
