Send on behalf of shared mailbox outlook
To send an email on behalf of a shared mailbox in Outlook, you can follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the "From" field
- Open Outlook and go to the shared mailbox folder.
- Compose a new email by clicking on the "New Email" button.
- In the "From" field, select the shared mailbox name from the dropdown list.
- Enter the recipient's email address in the "To" field.
- Write your email message and click "Send".
Method 2: Using the "Send on Behalf" feature
- Open Outlook and go to the shared mailbox folder.
- Compose a new email by clicking on the "New Email" button.
- In the "From" field, enter the shared mailbox name.
- Click on the "Send on Behalf" button in the "From" field dropdown list.
- Enter the recipient's email address in the "To" field.
- Write your email message and click "Send".
Note: When you send an email on behalf of a shared mailbox, the "From" field will display the shared mailbox name, but the "Sent Items" folder will show the email as sent from your own email address.
Best practices:
- Make sure you have the necessary permissions to send emails on behalf of the shared mailbox.
- Use the "Send on Behalf" feature only when necessary, as it can be confusing for recipients to see the email sent from a different email address.
- Keep in mind that emails sent on behalf of a shared mailbox may not be considered as official communications by the shared mailbox owner.
