Set google mail as default email client
To set Google Mail as the default email client on your device, follow these steps:
For Android devices:
- Go to your device's Settings app.
- Scroll down and select Apps or Application Manager.
- Find the Google Mail app and select it.
- Tap the three vertical dots on the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Default apps.
- Tap Set as default next to Email client.
- Confirm that you want to set Google Mail as the default email client.
For iOS devices (iPhone/iPad):
- Go to your device's Settings app.
- Scroll down and select Mail.
- Tap Default Email App.
- Select Google Mail from the list of available email clients.
- Tap Back to save your changes.
For Windows devices:
- Right-click on the Start button and select System.
- Click on Default apps.
- Click on Email.
- Select Google Mail from the list of available email clients.
- Click OK to save your changes.
For macOS devices:
- Click on the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
- Click on General.
- Click on Default email reader.
- Select Google Mail from the list of available email clients.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Once you've set Google Mail as your default email client, it should open automatically when you click on email links or try to compose a new email from another app.
