Settings for gmail pop email
Here are the settings for Gmail POP email:
POP Server Settings:
- Server: pop.gmail.com
- Port: 995
- Username: Your Gmail address (e.g. [email protected])
- Password: Your Gmail password
- Authentication: Use SSL (TLS) or SSL (STARTTLS)
POP Settings:
- Leave a copy of messages on the server: Yes or No (depending on your preference)
- Expunge deleted messages: Yes or No (depending on your preference)
Additional Settings:
- Enable POP: Yes (to allow POP access to your Gmail account)
- POP access: Allow less secure apps: Yes (to allow POP access from less secure apps)
Gmail Settings:
- Go to your Gmail account settings by clicking on the gear icon and selecting "See all settings"
- Click on the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab
- Under "POP download", select "Enable POP"
- Under "POP access", select "Allow less secure apps: Yes"
Third-Party Email Client Settings:
- If you're using a third-party email client (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird), you'll need to enter the following settings:
- Server: pop.gmail.com
- Port: 995
- Username: Your Gmail address (e.g. [email protected])
- Password: Your Gmail password
- Authentication: Use SSL (TLS) or SSL (STARTTLS)
Note: Make sure to enable POP access in your Gmail account settings and allow less secure apps to access your account. Also, be aware that POP access may not work if you have 2-Step Verification enabled on your Gmail account.
