Stop us mail temporarily

You want to temporarily stop receiving mail from the United States Postal Service (USPS). Here are the steps to do so:

Option 1: Hold Mail at Your Local Post Office

  1. Visit your local post office and speak with a postal employee.
  2. Inform them that you'd like to hold your mail temporarily.
  3. Provide a reason for holding your mail (e.g., going out of town, vacation, etc.).
  4. The post office will hold your mail at their facility until you're ready to have it delivered again.

Option 2: Use the USPS Hold Mail Service

  1. Go to the USPS website (usps.com) and sign in to your account.
  2. Click on "Manage Your Account" and then "Hold Mail."
  3. Fill out the online form with your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
  4. Confirm your request and the USPS will hold your mail at their facility until you're ready to have it delivered again.

Option 3: Contact the USPS Customer Service

  1. Call the USPS customer service number at 1-800-275-8777.
  2. Explain to the representative that you'd like to hold your mail temporarily.
  3. Provide the same information as above (reason for holding mail, dates, etc.).
  4. The representative will assist you with holding your mail.

Remember to keep in mind that holding your mail may affect any packages or deliveries you receive, so it's a good idea to notify any relevant parties (e.g., banks, credit card companies, etc.) of your temporary mail hold.
