Swansea mc royal mail

A blast from the past!

Swansea MC (Mail Centre) was a major postal sorting and delivery hub operated by Royal Mail in Swansea, Wales. It was one of the largest mail centres in the UK, employing hundreds of people and handling millions of items of mail every year.

The Swansea MC was opened in the 1960s and was a key part of Royal Mail's network in South Wales. It was responsible for sorting and dispatching mail to destinations across the UK and beyond.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Royal Mail underwent significant changes, including the introduction of new technology and the consolidation of its operations. As a result, the Swansea MC was closed in 2012, with its operations transferred to other Royal Mail sites in the region.

Although the Swansea MC is no longer in operation, Royal Mail still has a significant presence in Swansea, with a number of delivery offices and sorting offices serving the local community.
