The "Sweep" feature in Outlook!
Sweep is a powerful feature in Outlook that allows you to quickly move, delete, or categorize multiple emails at once. Here's how to use it:
To sweep emails:
- Open your Outlook inbox and select the first email you want to sweep.
- Hold down the Ctrl key and select the other emails you want to sweep. You can also select a range of emails by holding down the Shift key and selecting the first and last emails in the range.
- Right-click on one of the selected emails and choose "Sweep" from the context menu.
- In the "Sweep" dialog box, choose what you want to do with the selected emails:
- "Move to folder": Move the emails to a specified folder.
- "Delete": Delete the emails.
- "Categorize": Apply a specific category to the emails.
- "Mark as read": Mark the emails as read.
- Click "Sweep" to apply the action to all selected emails.
Tips and variations:
- You can also use the "Sweep" feature from the "Home" tab in the ribbon. Click on the "Sweep" button in the "Move" group.
- To sweep all emails from a specific sender, select an email from that sender and then use the "Sweep" feature.
- To sweep all emails with a specific subject, use the "Find" feature to search for emails with that subject, and then use the "Sweep" feature.
- You can also use the "Sweep" feature to move or delete emails from a specific folder. Simply select the folder, right-click on it, and choose "Sweep".
