Tabbing in gmail images
You're referring to the "Tab" feature in Gmail that allows you to categorize and prioritize your emails using labels and colors!
To use the Tab feature in Gmail, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page and select "See all settings."
- In the "General" tab, scroll down to the "Categorize mail using" section.
- Select the "Tabs" option from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the "Save Changes" button.
Once you've enabled the Tab feature, you'll start seeing different tabs in your inbox, such as:
- Primary: This tab shows you your most important emails, such as messages from people you interact with frequently.
- Social: This tab shows you emails from social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Promotions: This tab shows you emails from online retailers and other promotional emails.
- Updates: This tab shows you emails from news sources and other updates.
- Forums: This tab shows you emails from online forums and discussion groups.
- Updates from your contacts: This tab shows you emails from people you've interacted with in the past.
You can also customize the tabs to fit your needs by dragging and dropping emails into different tabs. For example, you can move an email from a social media platform into the "Primary" tab if you want to prioritize it.
Note that the Tab feature is only available in the web version of Gmail, and not in the mobile app.
