In 1997, Hotmail was acquired by Microsoft for $400 million, and it became one of the company's most popular services. In 2012, Microsoft rebranded Hotmail as Outlook.com, and the service was integrated with Microsoft's Outlook email client.
Today, Outlook.com is still a popular email service, offering features such as:

- Mobile apps for iOS and Android
- Integration with Microsoft Office and other Microsoft services
- Advanced security features, such as two-factor authentication and encryption
However, it's worth noting that Hotmail is no longer a separate service, and the hotmail.com domain is now redirected to Outlook.com. If you have a Hotmail account, you can still access it through Outlook.com, and you can also upgrade to a Microsoft account to take advantage of additional features and services.
