The bosporan army email

A unique request!

The Bosporan Kingdom was an ancient state that existed from the 5th century BCE to the 4th century CE, located in the northern part of the Black Sea, on the Crimean Peninsula and the Taman Peninsula. The kingdom was known for its naval power and its army, which was composed of infantry, cavalry, and archers.

If we were to imagine an email from the Bosporan Army, it might look something like this:

Subject: Battle Alert: Defend the Kingdom!

From: General Mithridates, Commander of the Bosporan Army To: All Bosporan Warriors

Date: 12th of Hekatombaion, 120 BCE

Message:

Fellow warriors,

The time has come to defend our beloved kingdom against the threats of the Scythians and the Greeks. Our scouts have reported that a large force of enemy troops is approaching our borders, seeking to plunder our riches and destroy our way of life.

As your commander, I call upon you to stand strong and united against this threat. Our army is well-trained and well-equipped, and I have every confidence that we will emerge victorious.

Orders:

  1. Report to your unit commanders immediately to receive further instructions.
  2. Prepare your armor and weapons for battle.
  3. Be prepared to march at a moment's notice to meet the enemy.

Remember:

Let us march into battle with courage in our hearts and the gods on our side!

Vale!

General Mithridates

P.S. Do not forget to bring your trusty bow and quiver full of arrows. We will need every arrow to rain down upon our enemies!

Of course, this is purely fictional, but I hope it gives you a sense of what an email from the Bosporan Army might look like!
