To set up your Tufts email account, follow these steps:
Step 1: Activate Your Account
- Go to the Tufts University website (www.tufts.edu) and click on "My Tufts" at the top right corner of the page.
- Click on "Activate Your Account" and enter your username and password.
- Follow the prompts to activate your account.
Step 2: Set Up Your Email Account
- Once your account is activated, go to the Tufts University email login page (mail.tufts.edu).
- Enter your username and password to log in to your email account.
- You will be prompted to set up your email account. Follow the prompts to:
- Set your password (if you haven't already)
- Set up your email client (e.g., Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.)
- Set up your phone or tablet to access your email account
Step 3: Configure Your Email Client
- To set up your email client, follow the instructions below:
- Outlook: Go to File > Add Account > Manual setup or additional server types > Internet Email. Enter your email address, username, and password. Select "POP3" as the account type and enter the following settings:
- Incoming mail server: mail.tufts.edu
- Outgoing mail server: mail.tufts.edu
- Port: 110 (Incoming) and 25 (Outgoing)
- Apple Mail: Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Add Account. Select "Other Mail Account" and enter your email address, username, and password. Select "POP3" as the account type and enter the following settings:
- Incoming mail server: mail.tufts.edu
- Outgoing mail server: mail.tufts.edu
- Port: 110 (Incoming) and 25 (Outgoing)
- Other Email Clients: Refer to your email client's documentation for specific setup instructions.
- Outlook: Go to File > Add Account > Manual setup or additional server types > Internet Email. Enter your email address, username, and password. Select "POP3" as the account type and enter the following settings:
Step 4: Verify Your Account
- Once you've set up your email account, verify your account by clicking on the verification link sent to your email account.

- Make sure to check your spam folder for any emails from Tufts University, as they may be filtered there.
