Uncw email set up
Here's a step-by-step guide to setting up your UNCW email account:
Step 1: Activate Your Account
- Go to the UNCW portal (portal.uncw.edu) and log in with your UNCW username and password.
- Click on the "Student" or "Employee" tab, depending on your status.
- Click on "Account Information" and then "Activate Your Account".
- Follow the prompts to activate your account.
Step 2: Set Up Your Email Account
- Go to the UNCW email login page (email.uncw.edu) and log in with your UNCW username and password.
- Click on the "Settings" icon (looks like a gear) in the top right corner of the page.
- Click on "Account Settings".
- Update your account settings as desired, such as your name, email address, and password.
- Click "Save Changes" to save your changes.
Step 3: Set Up Your Email Client
- To set up your email client (such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or Mozilla Thunderbird), you'll need to enter the following settings:
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- Port: 587
- Username: your UNCW username (e.g. jsmith123)
- Password: your UNCW password
- Authentication: TLS or SSL
- Follow the instructions for your email client to set up your account.
Step 4: Set Up Your Mobile Device
- To set up your UNCW email account on your mobile device, follow these steps:
- For iOS devices (iPhone, iPad): Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Other > Microsoft Exchange. Enter your UNCW username and password, and select "Next".
- For Android devices: Go to Settings > Accounts > Add account > Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Enter your UNCW username and password, and select "Next".
- Follow the prompts to set up your account.

- If you're having trouble setting up your email account, try restarting your device or checking your internet connection.
