Uninstall mail

To uninstall Mail on a Mac, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Applications folder and find the Mail app.
  2. Drag the Mail app to the Trash icon in the Dock.
  3. Empty the Trash by right-clicking (or control-clicking) on the Trash icon and selecting "Empty Trash" or by using the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + Delete.
  4. If you're prompted to confirm that you want to delete the app, click "Delete" to continue.

Alternatively, you can also uninstall Mail using the Terminal app:

  1. Open the Terminal app on your Mac. You can find it in the Applications/Utilities folder or use Spotlight to search for it.
  2. Type the following command and press Enter:
    sudo rm -rf /Applications/Mail.app

This will delete the Mail app and its associated files.

Note: Before uninstalling Mail, make sure you have backed up your email data and settings, as uninstalling the app will remove all of your email accounts and settings.

Also, if you're using macOS High Sierra or later, you may need to use the following command instead:

sudo rm -rf /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail

This will delete the Mail app and its associated files, including the email data and settings.
